I Could Use Some Help With Chromebook

I took an eternity to finally buy a new laptop. I bought a Samsung Chromebook Pro. I have it since the beginning of August. Anyway it has crashed and froze on me twice so far. I'm on my Kindle Fire because I can't use my chromebook. The cursor will not respond by using the trackpad or by touching the screen. I have tried holding down the power button, it won't turn the computer off. What I did last time was just wait for the battery to run down and recharge it. I have a contract on the chromebook , I guess I'll have to call them. Can anyone offer advice on what I can try?

It sounds like it's stuck in a loop which is often a software glitch. Pulling the battery (or waiting for it to die) should solve the problem. Pressing and holding the power button for three to five to ten seconds can often force a Chromebook to shutdown, but if that's not working then taking away the power by removing the battery or letting it fully discharge should solve the issue.

@gardenman, thank you so much for the advice. I have tried holding down the power button, but it doesn't help.  I just let the charge run down. I read this is a problem with the Samsung Chromebook Plus and Pro. I am going to try to get in touch with the company to voice my complaint.

@kcladyz, I'm not a techie, how would you do that and would you lose all your settings and any information on the laptop? I'm actually using it right now, I just have to wait until the charge runs down and charge it up again.

Re: I Could Use Some Help With Chromebook

been having problems with mine also, when i had it for only maybe 8 months the cursor went, i couldnt move it... so i had to send it away to be repaired.. did they repair it, i'd say no.. now that my warranty is over im having problems  it will go to a black screen for maybe 10 seconds... sometimes turn back on, sometimes i have to hit the power button... sometimes does this 3 or 4 x a week... other times im fine for weeks... my comp. is only 2 yrs old.. i love it.. its all i need in a computer, but i'm wondering if when i ordered it  did they send me a refurbished one?? can you really trust anyone... got it brand new for around 200.00.. id get another one definetely, i dont need windows etc.. i just use it for surfing the web, shopping etc.  im hoping it will last me a few more yrs
