I’ve been thinking about buying a new music system at home. I’ve been using an iHome iW1 AirPlay wireless speaker till date, and I’m thinking of setting up multi room audio with some standalone Bose Wave SoundTouch music systems. I have no idea if this is possible, or if there are cheaper alternatives. I got some advice to use home theater receivers, but I use turntables too, and the compatibility is low.

I luv Bose products, but Sonos is the best multi room system. I am currently using a Logitech Squeezebox setup. When I can no longer use Logitech Media server software on a Window computer with my iTune library, I will probably move to Sonos products.
I started looking for solutions to streaming my iTunes library at this site. http://www.avsforum.com/forum/88-audio/ .
Here is information sbout AirPlay music https://gigaom.com/2014/01/18/how-to-set-up-multiroom-audio-with-airplay-speakers-and-itunes/

First: welcome to the often-crazy Q boards. 8)
Second: I'm hoping that HockeyNut/John - and possibly GardenMan - will see this, as they should be able to give you more good advice.
SHOUT-OUT to them both; hopefully they'll respond.

Thanks a lot of your advice Nutmeg, and easpecially for those links. I'm slow with software setup.
I bought the Bose SoundTouch a week after I posted that. Didn't run into much problems with the setup either. The guys over at Bay Bloor radio, from where I bought it gave me some quality advice.
And it's true- it's all a confusing journey lol, and I am enjoying it.
How is your Logitech btw?

Thank you feline. I'm sure that there are a lot of good folks here who can give me good advice. I went ahead and bought the Bose, so I will be quiet for a while now lol. I'll be sure to get back and share any questions or doubts as I have them.

Logitech discontinued the Squeeze box products in 2012, but there is a active support forum of experts online. They will help us average folks understand something about keeping a wireless network running, and playing the music.
I will have to move to Sonos at some point.
Again, Enjoy the music.
