Hi guys. Yesterday, I had a message in my in box purportedly from Microsoft telling me my outlook hotmail account had been compromised and providing a link to change my password. I did not use the link but went to microsoft outlook and changed my password. After a successful completion of the new p/w I could not get into my hotmail account as the new password was not accepted on my ipad. So...I went to settings, deleted the hotmail account and then set up the new one. Tried to open mail and STILL could not get in. Can anyone help with this? This is my main email ... Yikes. I'm off to try this on the laptop and see if I get anywhere there. TIA for assistance. LM

Hi Lilysmom, anymore it seems like we need to be rocket scientists to figure out what is going on with our devices.

Is there anyway you can get into a live person chat with Microsoft or Apple for assistance. I've had a similar problem with my Mac. When I enter a password it will ask me if I want the password remembered. When I select yes, it is stored in my system. When I change passwords all H breaks loose if I am not careful. This is only my guess what may be going on since you are using an Apple product.

Lilysmom, Try looking at these sites, it may help. I'm not real good at posting web addresses, hopefully you can paste into your search window and they will come up.

windows.microsoft.com/en-us/forgotten-password

https://mail.live.com/mail/troubleshooting.aspx

Like Bikke, I use a gmail email in addition to the one I use thru my service provider.

OMG these electronics are enough to drive one up the wall!!! Finally got it straightened out by going to my laptop. Seems for some reason they (hotmail, outlook, whoever) don't want to deal with you on tablets and such when these things happen. I reset my p/w on the laptop, went to ipad and deleted the old account, made a new hotmail account with the new p/w and off I go. Thanks for your help. Always so much appreciated. Don't know what I would do without my QVC pals. God Bless. LM

No, I have a Hotmail account, don't get any spam and I'v the same account for years. People who get spam usually go to questionable places, click on links, download "stuff" or other type of unsafe surfing.

No. Most people find one in particular they like. I use Gmail as a secondary mail account for people, web sites, vendors, etc who I do not want to have access to my primary email address which I get thru my provider. I like Gmail because it operates similar to Outlook which I used when I had a PC.

I have a chromebook so I do NEED a g mail account but I use hotmail as my e mail. I simply went to MSN as my opening page and I could open my hotmail there - then I bookmarked the page and put it on my home page. I have not gotten any alerts from Hotmail.
