I made a large purchase from QVC on the recommendation of my mother. My mother is a die hard QVC customer; making purchases at a weekly rate over many years. I've now convinced her to take her business elsewhere. I spent $550 for a Toshiba computer with QVC and 2 months later it died on me. This computer can be found elsewhere (including the Toshiba site) for less than $350! I purchased on the payment program because I am a single mother on a budget who needed a laptop for a job ASAP. With 3 payments of nearly $100 each left, I had a laptop with no hard drive and multiple other issues. This thing is so cheaply made it is unbelievable a company would sell it... especially at such a mark up.

I called QVC to get some assistance and was told the 30 day warranty period was up and I would need to contact Toshiba - good luck with that. After hours on the phone with countless people, 2 weeks after my laptop stopped working, I was still without a computer. I was told for more than a week that the customer service systems were down and no one could help me. When I asked where they were located, I was told "we are supposed to tell you we are in the Rockies" - come on Toshiba, at least don't train your people to lie to your customers. What a let down. After weeks of trying to get the laptop in for service, I finally got a rep to help me, but I had to pay $25 to get it there. Don't forget, I work from home using this laptop, and really suffered through this.

I've now had my laptop back for a couple of weeks and guess what? The hard drive appears to be going out again. I cannot have one program open without getting a "low on space" error and complete computer shut down. So what to do? Try to get a hold of customer service for hours? For weeks? Pay another $25 to be without it? QVC - I am still making payments on this machine, the least you can do is get me a replacement. You are loosing both a long time dedicated customer, and one who would have been had the service been acceptable.
