Help with Phone and MacBook Air

I am wonder how, if possible that when I delete a message  on my MacBook Air, that the same message is deleted from my I Phone.

Do I have a setting wrong in the set up or is this just not possible?

I have been getting a message on my MacBook Air that reads:

Your disk is almost full.  Save space by optimizing storage.

I use my MacBook for work, so I did have a lot of downloads and other work related material so I have gone thru and deleted a lot of files but still continue to get the message.

Any advice is appreciated.  thanks.

many things you can do, however, the best would be to do a live chat with Apple support

@Mom2Dogs - by message, do you mean a text?

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

You have your iPhone and Mac synced through Cloud.

@MG Chris ...Messages is linked to I Cloud, and I have removed text messages from my MacBook Air but all the messages still show up on the Iphone.

Go into settings, Messages:   send and receive and uncheck your phone number.

@Mom2Dogs - you have to delete them on each device.  I have an iPhone, MacBook Air and iPad and always have to delete them on each.  No way to do a sweeping delete.....that I know of.

Re: Help with Phone and MacBook Air

@gidgetgh   OK, thank you...do you delete each message individually or do you delete the contact?

I have a lot of messages from a group text, which can get really lengthy.  I try to stay on top of deleting each message but am way behind right now....thank you.
