I set my new Echo up this AM. Everything went smoothly. I left it plugged in and went about my day and after several hrs returned and noted the blue light was no longer on.

I pressed the power button and the top lit up blue and I was able to ask Alexia one question and the unit cut off. She therefore can answer one question ( as I tried several times) and the light goes out immediately, following. Went into app and went thru set up again. Receiving two messages that I am connected to internet and Echo is offline simultaneously. The unit is acting erratically, now, and I am wondering if it's the app, the unit or I am missing something? Any feedback appreciated.

The Amazon Echo folks have wonderful tech support.  Give them a call.

The blue light doesn't stay on.   It lights up when Alexa speaks.   Once your Echo is set and ready to go,  there's no need for you to touch it or turn it off and on.

@radiancegrace  @If the device you're using to control the Echo goes down or loses your WiFi connection,  the Echo will also need to be reset.   Just go to settings,  Bluetooth,  and click on Echo.   ALEXA will tell you it's now connected
