is it the cheap$49 tablet?  I have one and nothing works on it. Wallpaper apps do not work. It was a waste of money

You need to call Amazon.  If they can't resolve your problems, send it back.  If it is after the 30 days, maybe they would allow you to upgrade.  The $89 one is awesome.  I don't have any experience with the $49 one.

I got the 89$  since last post one and it connects to wifi but still cheap looking. all the apps look cheap, still had to download 10 or more wallpapper apps from the app store to find one that works. I miss the older tablets.  I wish I did not sell it. I still love my Voyage at least

Your comments are HELPFULL!  I thought I wanted the 8 " Fire HD and was going to buy one at the Amazon Kiosk in the mall but I will be saving some $$ now!  I am past putting up with "1/2  A%%ed"  products (if you know what I mean).

Turns out part of my dissatisfaction was that the best buy stores are advertising the wrong tablet. The 8"  tablet on display which is what I was expecting was an older model  I believe.  Probably 4th or 5th generation. It was 50%  thinner  and had a shiny finish ( high gloss) on the back but the one in the box that was sold to me was  thicker, heavier and matte finish.  I asked them  to sell me the one they had on display and they keep trying to sell me  the one I already have. I told them the tablet on display is not the same tablet in that orange box and they just do not understand and did not want to open a package to see for themself so I left frustrated.  The one on display was  very classy looking 8" fire  and had such a wonderful look and feel to it and it was very thin.  Can not find it anywhere for purchase not even on Amazon.  I went to every single Best Buy  in my city and it was the same thing and that model I wanted is not even  on amazon.com

No, a $90 device will not operate like a $600-$700 device. Is there any reason it should be expected to?
