Help!! Ready to throw computer through window!!

Can anyone tell me why everytime I go to open an application I get an error message

The application was unable to start properly. Close application

If I start computer in safe mode it will let me open them. I have searched online all night and can't find anything to fix it. Thanks for any info!!
