Help! Need replacement for Bose.

Hi.  I have a very old Bose am/fm radio and it finally gave up the good fight. I need something to replace it but am not sure I really need Bose.  Besides, Bose doesn't offer am/fm/bluetooth in a radio anymore.  I need something fairly compact, about the size of Bose.   Can you recommend brands and styles?   Thanks!

Re: Help! Need replacement for Bose.

@CalminHeart Question: Is it the Bose unit itself or the remote? The reason I ask is because I had the same problem. Thought it was the unit. Kept using the remote to turn it on because that was the only way. Mine is the Bose Wave Music System, purchased in 2005. Still looks good and still sounds great.

I put in a new battery for the remote, and that didn't help. So, before I plunked down around $500 for a new one, I ordered a new remote; think it was around $45. Got it thru a third part on Amazon. Fortunately, I was able to find the exact model, just a different color.

That was six months ago and, Bingo! It works! Saved a lot of money.

Probably need to look at the

Wave SoundTouch music system IV.

It has everything...radio, CD, BT and Wi-Fi streaming.

It's the unit that isnt working.  I was hoping it was the remote because i could get another but that's not the case.

@CalminHeart

I have made it no secret on this forum that I am not a Bose fan.  That said, I suggest you go online and type in exactly what you are looking for in that size of a receiver/CD/Bluetooth etc. There are probably many that are as good, or even better than Bose, for a much less $$$$. That is exactly what I would, and do practice, for buying many things.
