Why not share what you did so if someone else has the same problem, they can try it?

I would call or contact Dell and I do not envy you... the worst CS in the world of computers. I had many Dells thought the years and it was fine until Dell went global. I took my loses with a Dell computer , tablet and I promised myself I would never go back to Dell computer again. I never did. I would try to open up the computer take out the battery and then try to put it in. Good luck O/P I wish you better luck with the Dell company and CS then I had which was a nightmare.

Perhaps you didn't see later posts.  People want to know how you fixed it.  I'm curious also.

Apparently she isn't a regular here and only reads the board when she has a problem.

Soory, I didn't realize there were more posts asking what I did. I hit the F8 button quickly a lot  of times after turning it on.  A message came up asking if I wanted to do a restore and I hit yes.  So it restarted, took about a half hr. I lost everything I had, but since it was still new, there wasn't that much on it, but I was at least able to compute again---a good thing.
