My 3 year old Amazon fire 7 has been totally frozen for about 3 hours...not even the battery has worn down! I was web browsing when this occured. Never had ANY problems with this device till now. What can I do?????

Press and hold the power button until you see "Do you want to shut down?". Tap "ok" . When it completely shuts down, press and hold the power button to restart

Press and hold, or slide and hold, the Power button for a full 40 seconds. Even after the screen goes blank, continue to hold for 40 seconds, then let go. Press or slide the power button to restart if the device does not start up again on its own.

The battery wore down and apparently the device re-set itself!
