HP laptop question on possible problem

Recently purchased an HP laptop (which I love) almost a year now, and within the last couple of weeks I'm havin an issue with the screen. When I turn it on, instead of getting the screen to enter my passwork, I get a completely white screen. The only way out of that is to hit the power button again (sometimes having to do that twice) and then I will get the screen to enter my password. Should I be concerned? Thought I would ask any advice here before calling HP support.
