I am sorry you are going though this. Have you tried to contact HSN or HP and tell them you bought these computers and they are not working correctly? Do you have a warranty? Every computer that I have brought has at least a warranty for a few months. Worth a try .. right? Good luck to you and your daughter.

@tbsc

Forget BB and go directly to a manufacturer. Say Lenovo/Dell, or 1 of the other ones website. Buy only what you will use and need for your computing needs. Most people do not need a cruise ship load of software, which makes it seem like such a great deal on the shopping networks.

@tbsc

So exactly WHY do you think you are stuck with it?

Have you contacted HP and/or HSN?    If so, what did they say?

If you haven't taken any action to get the situation corrected, why not?

I would not recommend purchasing any computer from any home shopping channel.  You don't know whether the item is the latest from the manufacturer.  Go to the manufacturer's website, look at what they offer, and make your choice there.

@Cats3000

I understand your point, but please keep in mind that not everyone actually cares if it's "the latest" model.

Sometimes they want a quality computer at a really good price.  Sometimes "the latest" really isn't a consideration.

We get it, you don't like HP!  Will putting up more posts make you feel better? Wondering like others, no warranty/how old is it/what are your problems with it? Many times I have almost "cussed" at my computer, and guess what? It wasn't the computer, it was this idiot using it(me)!

@hckynut

LOL !!!

My sister works for a company that purchases used computers from businesses, refurbishes them and then re-sells them to other businesses ...  with a good warranty!

She said that they have the occasional "lemon" that ultimately ends up being tossed if it can't be refurbished properly.

With HP computers, a "lemon" shows up about 1 in 800 computers they take in.    With Dell computers, it's about 1 in 22 computers!

I wish she had told me this before I purchased my Dell laptop!   Grrrr!

Many of the programs shopping networks put on your computer do nothing but slow it down, and take up valuable space.  They never are as good of a deal as the shopping networks make them look.

Good point ..... not to mention they all charge a 15 to 20% restocking fee for returns.   QVC refunds every penny if you decide to return the computer.   BIG plus, IMO.
