Yesterday I had a very long online service call with Microsoft. After a Windows update, they had to reinstall printer & audio drivers, and ended up reinstalling Windows.
The whole thing took almost 5 hours!
Anyway, I lost and am reinstalling a few things, but now my backlit keys are "off" and won't light up.
This is a hardware problem, not a software problem the Microsoft rep said before he hung up.
I can't believe how important the lighting under the keys is for me .... any and all suggestions welcome!
TIA

This is a rather basic reply .... but have you pressed the F4 key on the top row. That turns the keyboard lights on/off.

@Tinkrbl44 I have an HP backlight keyboard laptop and there is a button on my PC above the number 4 key I think they are called the function keys. I pressed that button and the light came back on. May be a different key on your pc. Good luck.
