@pieman12    No this computer didn't come with Norton.  I bought it on w c when it was a TSV before Christmas for my mom.  I should've known I needed to get this and install...I just wasn't thinking.😔.  I use Apple products and just hadn't had this kind of trouble with them.

I really hope I've done enough to at least get her information off for now.  I will be purchasing Norton or some anti virus software for it this week.

I appreciate your advice.  Thank you.😊❤️

I found Malwarebytes Anti-virus and malware cleaner standard software for a fair price from the company site.

Please don't buy Norton because the company will try to sell you extra products.

That is the product I use.  It works well, doesn't bog down my computer and is easy to uninstall if I change my mind.  I wouldn't have Norton if it was free.

All the major products do a good job, but they now want to upsell customers extra services .

I do not use a Windows computer any more, so I receive Android security patches on my phone and tablets.

I received a "free" use Bitdenfender Amour software with a new router I brought. It is very good at blocking ad collection sites.

FYI,

I found a website speed cloudflare.com that will test your internet speed in a browser.
