Hey,

I am looking for a gaming computer laptop or desktop. That will run games like Minecraft, Lucius, and Amnesia. Preferably, a laptop because I also want to use this for schooling.

Give me an idea other than Alienware. Lol

Thank you for your help.

How much are you willing to spend? My Asus is a gaming computer, albeit 4 years old so it may not play the latest and greatest games. At the time I purchased it I was playing World of Warcraft. So I am comfortable recommending Asus. But you will spend minimum $1000.

A quick search of minecraft forums turned up suggestions for Asus, Lenova, and Sager. Lots of Sager posts, so it must be popular, again you would be spending $1000 plus.

If you want to play intense games, get a desktop. Laptops/notebook computers get too hot and fail.

I agree. Desktops offer more value for the money, an easier upgrade path and are just better all the way around for serious gaming. You can't really swap out components on a laptop the same way that you can on a desktop. You can get gaming laptops that will perform fine now, but be obsolete in a year or two and there's not much you can do but replace it. With a desktop you can easily swap out videocards, add more RAM, and make other tweaks to keep it functional for longer.
