I was in the very first group to receive the invitation to purchase the Echo and received a remote with it.  I found it very handy for adjusting the volume, pausing etc.  Unfortunately the puppy chewed it rendering it unusable.  I discovered I could purchase a new one for $29.99 which I considered too much.  In the fine print I saw used ones for $9.97, which it said might have minor cosmetic marks, so I ordered one.  What I got was a brand-new one in a sealed box complete with batteries, and not a mark on it. 

If you think a remote would be handy, consider this information.

@jayn  When you get it, it must be programed.  It's very simple unless you're me.  The directions are on the Alexa app.

Thanks. I ordered it at 10:00 p.m. & received confirmation around midnight that it had shipped.  Wow, that was fast,  I will be receiving it tomorrow.
