The E226114 graphics for this computer showed 8GB of ram. This is CAPABLE of 8 GB but ONLY 4 GB of ram per complete description. This is misleading for someone that didn't catch this. Just a heads up if someone was interested in this. You can add another 4 GB of ram to it but it is not on this computer. This is what it states on the 17" w/Office.

  • 4GB DDR3 1600MHz memory, expandable to 8GB
  • 500GB 5400 RPM hard drive

The i7 processor would be good as well as and 1 TB HD but this should have came with the 8 GB of ram if listed and the 1 TB HD. Something doesn't look right?

Re: E226114 Dell Computer Typo

There are a couple of things that didn't look right on the specs for this computer.

Another thing is that you can get a more up to date version of the same exact model elsewhere for a full $100 LESS (with free ship). (looking at the 15")

But the description I just read, on QVC, says 8gb RAM expandable to 16gb.

I also find that the i7 processor is only 1.8GHz. I was looking at i5 computers that had 3.1GHz processors. Why would an i5 have 3.1GHz and an i7 only 1.8?

Re: E226114 Dell Computer Typo

I am talking about the computer on this morning at 11:00 am.

This computer is also a dual core processor per description. Usually it would be a quad core. I didn't find where the specs said 8 expandable to 16 GB just 4 GB expandable to 8. I do know someone at QVC or Dell needs to "inspect all the graphic descriptions" if they don't want a lot of returns.

I have a Toshiba laptop that is quad core, i7, AMD 8 processor with 6 Gb ram and 1.5 GHz and I bought that 2 years ago. Nice laptop and it runs Windows 7. Very happy with Windows 7.

Instead of upgrading to Window 8 last year I purchased a MacBook Pro Retina. I left Mountain Lion OS on it as I didn't want to mess it up with the new Maverick OS. Nice not to have to do Windows updates all the time also. I will keep both until I pass on to one of my grandchildren.

The model for this item is i17RV-8273BLK and is has PENTIUM processer. Who knew they even made these any more. QVC should be ashamed of themselves. BTY it is available on Amazon without all the questionable bells and whistles for $429.

You cannot assume anything about the speed of this processor without viewing a cpu comparison list.
