Dumb Question Re: Halo Car Charger

OK, this might seem really dumb, but I have never done this before.  I bought the Halo car charger last year, never had to use it yet.  My question is once I hook the cables up to the battery and the light comes on saying it is charged, do I then disconnect the cables or do I start my car first and then disconnect them?  They never specify this in the presentations.  Thank you.

Re: Dumb Question Re: Halo Car Charger

Yes they do show it but..........they leave the Halo connected to the car battery (with green light meaning GO).............. and then get inside the car and  turn the key.   Car starts up - driver then goes to Halo Bolt and disconnects it from battery.

@lovesallanimals  I belive the battery draws the power from the Halo when you try to start it, so you would need to leave it hooked up until the engine is running.

@fthunt - Thank you so much.  I am so technically challenged but I am trying to learn about all these new do dads.

Re: Dumb Question Re: Halo Car Charger

@lovesallanimals I also think you leave it running for a bit before disconnecting.

@fthunt  I don't have one, but do you just disconnect the cables and it automatically turns off or do you have to turn it off?  When I say turn it off, I'm thinking of that button you push to start the charger.

Re: Dumb Question Re: Halo Car Charger

@Tadaki You just un-clamp the black and  red jumper cables from the battery.

DON"T push the start button again.  You're done - car is running and you're set to drive away.

Re: Dumb Question Re: Halo Car Charger

The car must be started prior to the disconnect.  That way it can draw power from the charger.  Assume the same old keep it running a while will apply too.
