P.S.  Indicator says speakers are at 100%.

Have you gone to SETTINGS, SOUND, then "troubleshoot" ??

Dumb question....have you tried rebooting?  That seems to solve a wealth of problems sometimes.

I have the same problem with my computer speakers,  no sound.

Yes they can go bad but that usually takes a long time for it to happen. How old is your computer?  Five years or older is an old computer and probably needs to be replaced anyway.

Make sure the drivers are updated. Also check your system settings for the sound level adjustment.

Just an idea - on my MAC there is a volume control on the keyboard on the top row.  I accidentally switched it off once.

Yes.  My husband had a fairly new laptop and his went.  Not all at once but it started when he was using headphones and noticed a scratchy sound.  The tech guys came and replaced the speakers.

It would be cheaper, and easier, to use a bluetooth speaker rather then getting the speakers replaced.

@Maggie Nolia

If you are using a Mac, zapping/resetting PRAM will restore the sound.
