I have a year old HP desktop that I hate. There is always some sort of problem. It will only take a few papers or else they get all crinkled on the edges which jams the machine. Today a light came on and no matter what I try, using the support page, it won't go away. I've spent more time with repairs than using this POS.
So I'm looking for recs for either a printer that you have and like, be it a desktop or laser that doesn't cost $$$. Thanks in advance.

I have an HP Envy which has worked quite well. Bought it about 3 years ago when my HP All in One died. Since I retired, I only need a printer that is fairly simple.

Most printers don't last long. On average about 5 years max and then they begin to act up. My last two printers were HP and I'm still using one, HP DeskJet (old but works good). I don't print often and when I do it's just in black ink.

I had an HP printer that lasted well over 10 years. I had it so long I can't remember the exact age. It finally wasn't printing as crisply as usual so I recycled it (free at Staples) and both DH and I now use just the Brother Laser printer (color) we have.
But the laser printer isn't cheap, nor are the toner refills, so I doubt that would be something you'd want.
Maybe check out reviews on Consumer Reports or somewhere like Best Buy?

@SilleeMee - Same as you, except I print all of the time. It's old, but dependable, most of the time! ![]()

What does the HP desktop have to do wth the printer problem? I have a Canon printer which is so old, I can't remember when I bought it. It has been a reliable trouble free printer for all of these years. I can't say what they new printers are like.

I bought a Brother laser printer. I would never go back to ink. Bought mine at Costco.

I like Canon printers. I have a wireless one that's over 15 years old. I just bought another one to use with my new laptop - old one was too old to set up.

I am so happ;y I chose a laser printer many years ago. The cartridge lasts forever and it is so easy to use.
