Tomorrow is a DELL TSV. I purchased the 17 inch DELL TSV in March and I am returning because after several days on the phone with a DELL tech which culminated with me holding the phone in one hand and a screwdriver in the other, it was determined my CD drive was defective and therefore not being detected by the computer. So, I have to return and now I am without a laptop for work. I am not happy with DELL. I have purchased several HPs and Gateways for my children and both brands are running fine even to this day.

This was my first experience with DELL because the offer seemed so good, NOT!. I wanted to share my experience with DELL so consumers will be informed. On the up side, QVC agreed to refund my $199 for the additional warranty I purchased and sent me a return label for me to return the computer for a full refund.

I prefer the feel of an HP. This is just my humble opinion and my experience. If you choose to purchase the TSV on 5/4/2014, I hope your experience with DELL is better than my experience. I wish you the best.

I am sorry to hear that you are having problems with your Dell laptop. I ordered the Dell 15.6 TSV on March 16th and I have had no issues with it at all. In fact, I am enjoying it quite a bit.

I really like how the extra software is not loaded on the laptop when you receive it, but you decide to install which software you want that is included on the PC Treasures CD. So far I have installed the McAfee software that is good for the life of the laptop and the Corel PDF Fusion. Soon I plan on installing the Photoshop Elements.

I'm sorry your Dell did not work out at least you received your Dell TSV from March 16 we ordered one too the 17 in EDD was April 14 then it went to April 21 then to May 5 then to Back Order when it went to Back Order we canceled.

We bought the HP TSV AMD A8 with 8GB 1TB that was on air April 13 we received it April 30 and I am ve ry happy with my new laptop it's fast enough for me and it was cheaper then the Dell.

Dell lost a customer when the laptop went to back order.

I've had several Dell computers over the years and never have had a problem. My current desktop is a Dell. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase another one. Looking forward to the TSV at midnight!

I bought the March Dell TSV as well, and I'm having no problems with it (other than learning Windows 8.1 which does weird things).

I love the two new colors, Merlot and Bronze. If I were buying this one, I would get the Bronze, as it almost looks honey-colored. I have the blue, which is fine . . . the color really doesn't matter.

Hi EastCoastViewer,

I TOTALLY understand your experience.....now I bought my Dell from QVC about 6 years ago and it was a NIGHTMARE!!!!

My PC out of the box was not working properly....I had to made a call to DELL and they sent out an in-home tech----the tech contacted Dell and ordered a part .....Dell sent the wrong part.....she got the part and repaired the machine, but more problems and called Dell and they told me to send the PC back to them for repairs ...... oh, the pickup to send to Dell was botched too......and had to call them again to have it picked up.....it was delivered to Dell and came back WORSE then before.....I called Dell and was furious....they told me to send it back again....I called both Dell and spoke to a Supervisor---they refused a replacement, and since Dell had fooled around with repairs...QVC and they said it was beyond the 30 days and refused a refund....I told them the PC was obviously defective....I hung up the phone from QVC CS and called QVC Corporate....they called DELL, then called me back and said that a Dell Supervisor would arrange to have the PC picked up and deliver me a replacement....

NEVER AGAIN WILL I BUY A DELL OR BUY AN ELECTRONIC FROM QVC!!!! I purchased an HP from Best Buy and have had no problems....when windows 8.1 came out got a new PC no problems....

There is a reason that Dell has dropped from #1 to #4 in the PC World...between their decline in quality and customer service! JMHO!

So I totally understand OP.....we are not alone in our thinking OP....

A struggling Dell has decided to take itself private at a time its PC shipments have dropped nearly 13 percent over the past year. There have been some bright spots, including the very nifty XPS 12 convertible. However, Dell’s tech support was absolutely horrible during our last survey, with one rep pushing a sweepstakes on us. The result is a seventh place finish out of nine brands.

Dismal phone service caused Dell’s tech support score to plummet this year to a last-place finish. Support.dell.com answered most of our questions, the live chat feature was successful and social networks gave us helpful responses. Phone reps, on the other hand, repeatedly gave us pushy and unnecessary sales pitches, even going so far as to fake a sweepstakes. It can only get better from here.

Hated my Dell I purchased as a TSV about 4 years ago. It lasted 2 years. Honesty, the cheap $200-300 Toshiba computers from WallyMart last longer. You don't need all of that extra software. You can buy lifetime antivirus software anywhere and you would still be better off buying the cheap ones. I use my computer for home office use mostly and use it ALL day everyday, and they last. I am no longer falling for the TSV's for laptops. Afterall, they have a new computer TSV all the time and every time, EVERY time, it is the best value they have EVER had, according to the hosts.

I purchased from QVC in 2002 a Dell laptop for home use. I added memory in 2011. I just now stopped using due to the fact that Dell no longer supports their XP operating system. My old laptop purchased from QVC was a real workhorse.
