Dan makes false Statement in regards to Kindle Fire HD

Dan said at 10:00 a.m during the Kindle Fire presentation, that he has an iPad and loves it, but is unable to connect it to a Television. He said the Kindle can attach to a TV that has this built in or you have to buy a device that is around $80.00 dollars. You can connect an iPad to a TV with Apple TV, which is $89.00 to $99.00 depending on retailer. You can see what ever your iPad sees. You can also print to your printer with the iPad if you download a driver as well and you printer at least supports wireless or on a network that is wireless.

So, Yes, you can see an iPad on your TV. Dan made a false statement to us iPad lovers or should have never made the statement.

You're right...they have just implied that I cannot print from my Ipad. I print from my IPad to my HP wireless printer daily. They need to keep to their facts and not embellish in their enthusiasm for the Kindle product.

I have and IPAD2 and I do everything with it! I also have (which I'm using now) a SAMSUNG laptop.

I use them both all day long!

Here's my question. Why is it that everyone always compares everything to an IPAD? Have you ever noticed that?

If their product (whatever it is) is so great, why is it always compared to the IPAD?

Why not just buy the IPAD.

It's not really a false statement. You do need Apple TV and a wireless network to view movies through your TV.

You can't see everything on your iPad on your TV.

You need a printer that is wireless and compatible with the iPad. Not all printers are.

Annabellethecat ...it can only be the cost. I love my IPad...the first thing I noticed was that the Kindle did not have the cameras that I enjoy with my tablet. I think it has a front facing camera, but I truly never take a selfie. :-), but I can take beautiful pics with my IPad and videos.

No one cares. That blip, true or not true, wouldn't be deal breaker for anyone. Nor would it convince anyone to go with the IPad. I have a Kindle, hubby is in love with his IPad. He can't do any more with his tablets (he has two) than I can do with mine. I haven't yet upgraded to H D X but I will at some point.

I think it's misleading the way the rep says that chatting through Skype is free.

Sure, it's free if you use it at a place where you have free wi-fi. If you don't have free wi-fi or unlimited data, you're paying for that Skype chat. I don't have unlimited data and find that I could easily be fined overage charges for going over my monthly limit if I frequently use something like Skype or Google Hangout.

The app may be free, but the data required to run the app isn't always free. QVC's Kindle rep isn't clarifying that.
