I wish I could blame this on my cat, but I cannot, it is all my fault and carelessness. My laptop fell off my bed and onto a carpeted floor. Alas, my dvd drive located on the side of my laptop is not quite right. At first, when I pushed the button to release the dvd inside, it would not work at all. But I managed to pop off the exterior piece and push the trigger button inside and my dvd tray popped out like usual. I removed the dvd. I pushed it back in and replaced the outside piece - seems good, but my pc will not read any dvd's now.
When I insert a dvd, I can hear the laptop going thru the usual sounds that it makes, but then it just stops and is dead. Nothing will play. I could fool around with it a little more, but at least the pc is working and I am able to type this. Am considering that I may just have to go and get myself a portable dvd player. Anyone out there have this happen?
Seems thats the trouble with laptops. You set them down and oops - there it goes. Careless careless.
