DO I ONLY HAVE TO USE ATT OR VERIZON WITH IPAD 3 INTERNET.

Bought my ipad 3 last year from the Q. I already had ATT Internet only service. They are sooo expensive anymore for junk. It seems like I heard that for my WIFI on the Qvc ipad 3 I was only allowed certain carriers, is that true? I cannot afford ATT!
