Techie gurus please help!

DH's iPhone will not notify of text messages... the "ding" is not sounding. I have gone into settings and made sure that this item is turned on.

Does anyone have any ideas about a fix for this?

My husbands phone did this at first and I, too, checked all the settings. The only thing I didn't check (too obvious) was that he had the volume turned off lol. Your husband didn't accidentally hit the volume by mistake?

Is the phone ringing for incoming calls? I agree - the ringer may be muted - little button upper left hand side of phone - left side - should be toward screen not back.

Check you haven't accidentally switched off the ringer (button on the top left hand side edge of the phone).

The volume could be way down without the ringer being off too.

Yes, Meeras, there is and that might be a good idea if he cannot receive sounds from texts outside of my texts to him... we will try that.

In fact, this morning my iPhone "quit" -- black screen. Following online instructions, I connected it with the USB port of my computer, and it instantly lit up! We may have to try this trick with DH's phone, too. Thanks

I silence my phone before every meeting and forget to set it back to normal.
