I use IE 11 and lately I keep getting a message that IE is not urrently working and to close out but instead I click on the X and all is good but I fear that it might get worse as time goes on so I want to download Chrome to my desktop just to be sure.  I already have Firefox on there but do not really care for it.  I need to keep IE as my default browser though because I use Windows Live for my emails and I like it.  I am using Windows 7 Professional.

My question is I googled Chrome and there are a lot of choices and I would like to know which one to choose.  My other question is that will it go directly to my desktop as I do not want it as my default browser?  I hope that I am making sense.  I am wondering if perhaps when downloading it that it asks me?  Sorry if I am not making any sense with this as it has been a while since I have done this.  TIA!

When it's downloading it should ask if you want Chrome to be your default browser.

I use Windows Live Mail and only use Chrome.  I want nothing to do with IE.

I use both. Chrome can have a problem and you need a backup.

@Nuttmeg, I have IE and Firefox if I need them.  Fingers crossed, so far haven't needed either. Smiley Happy

I downloaded Chrome and chose to not use it as my default but rather as a backup.  Thank you everyone for your quick responses.  Have a great rest of the day.
