Chalk, I need your help

Once again, I need help getting my brain around the Apple operating system. When I wanted to add music to my song list using either Windows Media Player or MusicMatch Jukebox, all I had to do was double click and it was added to the list but didn't play until it was the next song in the queue. With iTunes if I double click a song, it starts playing immediately and that isn't want I want. What do I do to add a song to iTunes and have it sit in the queue?
