Can't remember the steps to add a link to a post, please help?

I have a Mac Apple and am not very literate on it at all. However, I did know how to add a link to a post here but have forgotten the steps. Can someone please enumerate them for me? I tried just now to add one to a post in the Community forum and made a real mess! Thanks a lot. I know it's easy, but just can't seem to get it!
