If anyone is familiar or can help!
I just signed up for Boost Mobile (at my house I get no Verizon signal and Boost uses Tmobile/ATT), ported my number and got the new Samsung Galaxy A14 5G. It seems everything works BUT I can't receive text messages sent from iPhones.
There does seem to be an issue between Apple iMessage and Google that has gone on for years but never had a problem on my old Motorola Moto G phone.
Help! Thoughts? Is it Samsung? I am panicked.

@HGinLA - Wish I could help, but I have a Moto Stylus G phone and get texts from friends and family with iPhones all the time. Never had a problem with any of my previous LG phones either.
There are a lot of helpful people on these forums. I hope one of them has the answer for you.
ETA: I just googled it and found this:
Someone suggested having the person with the iPhone to delete the previous thread between you and start fresh, so that it picks up your new carrier/phone.
Lots of suggestions out there if you google "Samsung Galaxy A14 not receiving iPhone texts".

'Smart' phones really have become a pain in the neck, in my opinion. I think we rely on them too much to do too many things. That said, I have a Samsung Galaxy and regularly get texts from one of my friends that has an iPhone, though I sometimes do and sometimes don't get a notification.

I haven't had that problem. My family members have iPhones, and I have a Samsung.

My son has a Samsung Android phone and my texts did not go through for a few days this week. I have Tracfone service,my daughter has Spectrum, my son has T-Mobile and my friend has AT&T and all our phones texts are not coming through either. My son got our iPhone and Android messages from Monday am and it was Tuesday when receiving them. It makes no sense.
I think it is not enough cell towers. I have to put cellular on my iPhone to get a photo anymore when I did not do this before.
Mine is working fine again since yesterday. I will call instead of text when it is important now.

A friend of mine has Tracfone, started having problems with text messages and had to get a new phone.

Its your new service, not the phone. I had that problem when i switched to Mint Mobile (horrible mistake in trying to save money after 30 yrs with Verizon). After 3 weeks, I switched back to Verizon as important texts from work werent coming from all the Iphone using coworkers and boss. Had to pay Verizons new rate too. I got screwed all the way around but my android works properly now.

Friends,
Thank you all for your thoughts. I did spend close to 2 hours with a neighbor who is very smart electronically. He uses an iPhone on Verizon. So...he did a lot of reading and research and saw complaints about Android users not getting text messages from iPhone users. It is inconsistent without a real explaination. One of the things that is posted a lot is to remove your cell number from iMessages. Problem is, I have never had an iPhone or used that app, so that "solution" doesn't apply. We did discover that I can get photos but no texts (he sent pictures). He said that is because photos use "MMS" and texts use the "SMS" (I had no idea about these technically and didn't understand the difference until we discussed them). So the problem is strictly with SMS message coming from iPhones. Is it a Samsung issue? Comments on that were vague. I am going to call the dreaded customer service line...dreaded because it is out of country and while nice, it is SO difficult to understand them. And they will be reading from a script. I may see if I still have time to exchange the Samsung A14 for a different brand.

@HGinLA Before returning the phone and going through another change, consider having someone proficient in Android technology check your settings. There could be a very easy fix that involves merely changing a setting. For instance, is SMS turned on under your Message App settings?

Is there not a Verizon store nearby? I'd go there for help before I would call CS. I've done that a couple of times. I discovered I was no longer getting voice messages once. It too them awhile to figure it out, but finally fixed it.
I have a Samsung Galaxy and DH has iPhone and never had a problem with texts even when I changed over from Motorola Android to Samsung.
