Can an Absolute Dummie.......

Buy the IPAD and figure out how to work with it. I won't have any help available like family, friends, etc and I so want to try to keep up with technology but I don't give myself credit enough.

1) I just went from a basic phone to a Smartphone (4G DROID RAZR MAXX) and although I realize it has many capabilities as a tablet does and the fact that it has 4G is great but I basically just started getting past using it as a basic phone.....i.e. set up my email accounts and a GMail acct. I'm fearful of being so lost if I purchase the IPAD

The presentations of it are totally geared to people who seem to have access to the product on a frequent basis possibly seeing friends and family have one or have an earlier IPAD version but I'm sure there must be people at the same level I'm at.

I listened to the last caller who asked how she would type on it and I felt somewhat better about my own knowledge because at least that wouldn't be a question I would need to ask since playing with my DROID phone which seems to be set up very similar to a tablet.

2) Also....I noticed that all the Black Pads except for 1 color has already sold out....is there a reason for that other than personal preference or is the black border better for viewing capabilities.

3) One other thing....they seem to be very vague about purchasing data usage plan.

I have noticed that they mention AT&T the last few times they have offered the IPAD as a TSV or Hotpick and I have another question because

I have my data plan for my phone with Verizon but when I am away from home and don't have access to my home WIFI then I use Optimum WIFI connection for my data usage and it is free because they are my internet, cable and land line provider company. Would I have to deal with AT&T if I take the leap and purchase the IPAD?

I hope I can get some answers....I know I've rambled on. Thanks so much!
