Can Someone Recommend a Digital Camera That Has No Lag Time

I miss lots of good shots because of the lag time on snapping photos. What type of camera should I look for that will alleviate this problem? Within reason, cost is not an issue.

Or, should I be using the manual mode on my camera and manually do the setting myself?
