My Bose Music System III would not accept CDs anymore and after speaking to a Bose representative was told they no longer make that product and there is no one to fix it even a Bose staffer, so beware. I am now stuck with a Bose product that doesnt work. Would never buy a Bose anything since the company doesnt care. Buyer Beware.

I own four. One of them did the same thing about 6 years ago and I was told that it couldn't be fixed. So on that particular one all I can do is listen to the radio. Expensive radio, LOL.

@good dog I've had my Bose Wave for years now, so like pretty much everything technical I know it's outdated. I know I'll be irritated when it quits working, but that doesn't mean the company doesn't care. All it means is the company has moved on and not enough people want to buy whatever it is that you just lost the use of.
Over my long life, I've had so many devices from so many companies give me grief that if I vowed never to use them again, I doubt I could get dressed, be clean, or even buy food to eat.

The wave 3 came out in 2007. Not many products have a useful life longer than 15 years. My Dad had that one and it went to my sister. The cd player stopped about a year ago. She learned the expected life span of that system is 12 years.
She's using it for the radio and bought a small cd player for that purpose.

First post and this time of year someone will post negative reviews of Bose.
There is a huge move to get you to never own any media. Just stream it and keep their revenue stream going, month after month.
I have 2 Bose IV and gifted another 1 to DS. I did have an issue playing 1 burned cd but it was the brand of blank cd, not the system. Plays other cd brands just fine.
There's a used electronics store in my town and he will tinker with a device for a bench fee. That may be an option.

@Tori3569 My Bose is on it's last leg... the radio works fine, but the cd player stopped working a couple months ago...

There's no longer any sources of high quality CD player parts. So name brand manufacturers like Bose have stopped making them.
Cheaper electronics companies continue to manufacture them. You just have to accept that they won't last long.

A couple years back my Bose cd player quit accepting cd's after someone tried inserting one when there was already one inside. Since then it's been in the box under the bed of a spare room. Guess I can confidently just let it go now lol. I too had hoped it may be able to be fixed.

I'm very confident that Bose bought a premade CD drive rather than make one themself. That's the way modern manufacturing works. If you can get into the Bose radio and closely examine any markings/tag/labels on the drive, you should be able to identify the maker of the drive. Then you might be able to get a replacement.
There's a relative handful of companies that made CD drives, so if you can find who made your disc drive and the model number of it, you might be able to replace just the drive.
