I don't hear my cell phone ring, nor is any voicemail left. But I get "Scam Likely" messages on my phone log. The calls come from different states and there is no phone number shown.

I had the same thing happen but not just telemarketing calls. My sister would try to call & phone wouldn't even ring on my end just go straight to voice mail. I could be staring right at my phone & it never showed an incoming call- just a new voicemail. I would power my phone off & turn it back on. I'd have her call again & then it would ring. Happened a few times & powering off fixed it for a while. I think mine started after an update to the phone. I figure they must have fixed the issue in the next update because it hasn't happened lately.

@Lilysmom, Two possible solutions:
I don't know if you have a 'Do not Disturb' type feature on your phone. It may be called something different.
It's pretty basic, and I'd think all phones would have it.
With 'Do not Disturb' turned on, I can select the option to only allow calls and messages from numbers in my contacts.
So calls from Drs office and Aunt Betty come through, but it rejects calls from any number not in my contacts.
Another choice is to open your phone app and check Recent calls before you dial the number to retrieve your voicemail. Your call history will tell you who called. You don't have to dial voicemail to find out who called.
Depending on your phone, you may also find the most recent caller listed on your notification panel. Just swipe down to check who called. No point in dialing voicemail to hear a message from someone you don't want to talk to.

I had a phone operating on AT&T cell towers that would do that about 50% of the time. It would happen when I was in an area where the cell signal wasn't particularly strong, the phone wouldn't ring, but sent the call straight to voicemail instead.
I think that may've happened during peak call times too, when towers were under heaviest use.
Nothing wrong with the phone itself.

@KentuckyWoman, I am glad the phone doesn't ring as well. LM

@x Hedge, thanks for the info. I will have a look at the phone again. When the call goes straight to voicemail, from the telemarketers at least, there is no record of the call in 'recent calls'. That was the first place I looked so I could block it🙂.
At least you don't have to take the call now. LM

@x Hedge- I was also wondering if there was a difference among carriers. I believe Verizon offers a "decline" option.
My personal policy is to NEVER answer a call that I don't recognize.
