and upgraded my phone on Monday.  I haven't upgrade since the Galaxy s4.  After careful research and consideration I just went ahead and got the Galaxy s8.  Now, I'm tasked with learning all the new features.  LOL.  Thank goodness for you tube videos.

I thought the Iphone would have been good for me but I know nothing about Apple and by the time I'd figure that phone out, it would be a year old!

Hope you're loving it.

Recently I got the S7 and I really like it.  These phones have amazing cameras, too, FWIW.

BTW, haven't seen you around lately and I hope you are doing well.  Saw some posts you made a little bit ago and ITA with everything you said, FWIW.  Smiley Happy

Hope you are enjoying your new phone.  I am an iPhone gal and I haven't had an upgrade since iPhone 4.  Ha!  Unfortunately, the iPhone 4 doesn't support updates for most of the apps I am using.  My husband just shakes his head and wonders why I don't upgrade.  I hate change.

My husband just recently traded in his iPhone3.   I couldn't believe it took so long, especially since his job pays for his phones and phone-related charges.   He's kind of tough on his things so it looked like it had been in a war.

Didn't take him long to crack the screen on the new one.  SMH - this is why I have my own things and he has his own things.  Smiley Happy   I take care of my stuff to a neurotic degree.  He is pretty much the opposite.

Hiya @chickenbutt I'm around.  Yes, the newer phones are so much more delicate.  So far so good.  I'm keeping track of the days I can safely return it (with a restocking fee) if I don't like it.

So....you bit the bullet too @KentuckyWoman.  I just hate the expense.  They cost so much money.

That is the main reason @itiswhatitis I don't want to upgrade.  The iPhone 4 I have now,  I purchased outright at the ATT store.  Now, they won't let you do that.  You have to pay it out over a two year contract.  We are going today to look.  I make hubby go with me.

You can buy the iPhone 7 outright from Apple. Then just activate it with your carrier.

So, one person posted they have the iPhone 7, and one just got the Galaxy 8.

Could either of you post how the camera is on their respective phone?

I am an Apple person, but it looks to me like the Galaxy 8 has the better camera. It is "rumored" that the anniversary iPhone 8 is going to up their camera to more megapixels and a zoom, similar to the Galaxy.

I am hoping my phone lasts until the iPhone 8, but now I am rethinking because the price for the iPhone 8 is rumored to be in the range of $1000. That is CRAZY expensive!

It is so hard to leave Apple once you have Apple products all syncing, and then go out an buy an Android.

@gabstoomuch, the Galaxy S8 cost me $750.00 plus tax.  The s8+ costs 850 plus tax.

Right now, I have no problems with the camera.  They are decent photos.  What I don't like about the S8 is the volume on the phone (not loud enough but very clear).  My s4's volume was way louder but a bit more gruffy.  My son has the Iphone 6+ so I don't know about the camera on the Iphone 7.

Re: Bit the Bullet....

[ Edited ]

I have a 'word to the wise' to anybody who might read this thread and is thinking about purchasing a phone -

A friend of mine recently ordered a phone like mine from a place called duckfishelectronics and - omg, what a mess!   Apparently the site was recommended by her husband so she didn't have any reservations going in, but it turns out that place is awful.

I read a few reviews about them selling stolen phones (yikes!).  They say they get them from corporate buyouts or something like that, but that seems to not be true.

So they went down to Verizon to activate it to their account and there was some reason for which it would be impossible to activate it.  What a nightmare and a mess.  She's trying to return it as misrepresented so as to avoid the considerable 'restocking' fee.

Anyway, long story long, stay away from this duckfish place!

I might have paid more (like about $200 more) to buy mine directly from my carrier, but I'd rather have 'new' anyway AND not have to worry about the phone's past. hehe
