Backorder?

We have recently got the Xbox Series X bundle and it was the last one. It said earlier in progress and then went to backorder. My thing is, how long will it take to get to us and if it doesn't come within 2-3weeks what happens then? Also why have it up and available then put our order on backorder. I'm quite confused.
