Apple users - I have a couple questions about iCloud...

I've been using an old version of iTunes for a very long time now because it has the backup to disc option, which I really like. I've spent a lot of time over the years organizing my iTunes library to make it just so and all my songs have album art and are rated and some are put into playlists. I have about 2000 songs, it's 11.5 GB.

Because my iTunes is so old (iCloud is not an option in my version) my newer devices won't sync up and I wanted to know if I purchased extra iCloud space to store all my songs, would they be stored exactly as they are in my iTunes? Meaning my playlists, my ratings, my album art, etc. Thanks for any info. I don't know all that much about iCloud yet.

Re: Apple users - I have a couple questions about iCloud...

I tunes did take away that feature to backup to disk in newer versions. To use iCloud, and to sync newer devices, you'll need to update iTunes. But, not sure why you can't locate the iTunes folder on your computer hard drive, then click on that and save it to a disk? If you update to a newer version of iTunes, your album art and playlists will be untouched. However, if you update you will lose any songs that were not purchased, meaning you downloaded from CD. apple wants you to use iTunes Match to match songs from your computer that were not purchased. That said...there is 3rd party software you could use with your older version of iTunes that will enable you to do all you want to do without updating iTunes. See this article, and read all the way to the bottom....http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/articles/comments/the-complete-guide-to-backing-up-your-itunes-libr...
