I paid for One To One Sessions at the Apple store when I bought my MacBook Air recently. This means that I can have as many one on one sessions as I need for a year. So far I've just been making lists of things that I couldn't figure out. Going through my lists has taken up the entire hour each time I've gone in. I would like to learn more general things I think next time. Does anyone have any suggestions of something I should ask them to show me? Thanks.

Re: Apple's One To One Sessions

Happy New Year NickNack. When you go in for a One on One you may be able to narrow your search down from home. If you go to www.Apple.com and go under Support at the top of the page on the right it will bring up a list of their products. Click on Apple Support Communities (lower on the left of the page) and Click on Join a Conversation. Then click on iPad, NoteBook (choose MacBook) and what device you want help with. There will be a search section at the top under (example) MacBook Pro and just type in (example) where is the Finder File? It will bring up a list of questions and if it is not there for what you want you can sign up (for free) and the Community forum will answer your questions. This is free and I love it when I can't figure something out.

Also before you scroll down to Join the Conversation you may choose the item you need help with and it will take you step-by-step with what you need to know. Just Click on it.

This has been a lifesaver when I needed help. There are very knowledgeable contributors on this and sometimes an Apple rep will answer on the forum also. These are just people like us that have already experienced what you are looking for. Hope this helps. you can always give it a try and go for a One on One for the remainder of your questions.

I forgot to add the site www.imore.com as this has many Apple product info and electronic updates for Apple products and it is free. You can scroll down through the data and not be a member.

Re: Apple's One To One Sessions

Thanks MKR NY. I just printed your response so I will have those instructions. I do always Google my questions before I go in. Sometimes I can find the answer and sometimes I can't. It usually takes me to the Apple Support Community, but I didn't know how to get there on my own. I also wasn't sure how to ask questions on my own and then be able to find the responses. Thanks again.

The best way to learn how to use any device is to USE IT! I don't know anyone who had lessons. As you are using it, got a question or get stuck, GOOGLE it and there will be thousands of answers! Fact is you actually only will need to use about 20% anyway.

Re: Apple's One To One Sessions

Thanks NickNack. We all have a learning curve and it isn't a bad thing to ask questions. I am happy to answer any questions that I know is correct. If not Apple and Google are priceless. Usually just exploring the device you have helps you the best. You always can back out of something. I kept a notebook with hints and tricks in when I bought something new and needed help. After you do something on it once or twice you won't need your notes. I always did this on my jobs before I retired with new programs or equipment. Co-workers would always come to me as they know I always had my notes. If they tried to learn I helped them if not I had no notes. Smiley Happy

I've been keeping notes, too.

Re: Apple's One To One Sessions

I have the same problem NickNack. Thank you for posting here. I've already learned some new things from the answers you've received. I would also add that if you are unclear about ANYTHING, stop right there and ask your tutor questions. I HATE acronyms, and sometimes just knowing what the h*ck the acronym means clears up a lot. GOOD LUCK!!!!!

Always remember we learn something new every day. Asking questions is a good thing. We all have to start somewhere to learn. Sometimes we forget this and being helpful is a privilege to return to others what others did for us. Smiley Happy

A Mac is easier to use than a PC, its very simple, play with the MacBook before you go to the sessons

Stop being afraid of what could go wrong and start being positive what could go right.

I've been using it and playing with it for a month. I just feel like there's more things that I should learn to broaden what I'm able to do. I absolutely love this laptop.
