As everyone knows by now..Apple released a new update iOS 7.1.1 approx. two weeks. In reading the reviews on this update and it's problems, I'm wondering if anyone else had problems doing this update. It seems that this was a problem, some user's were locked out or iTunes didn't recognize device. Any input anyone has would be appreciated as the Q sells Apple products such as iPad. Thanks

I didn't have any problems. Just make sure you do a backup to the cloud, or to your computer, before you do the update.

For the last update I lost all my photos from my iPad. I had a full backup to my computer but it didn't back up my pix. This is apparently very common. Fortunately drop box had automatically backed up my photos. I think I needed to back them to ITunes, haven't quite figured it out. One reason I'm switching my picture taking to my Kindle, but have to buy the new Kindle 8" because it has front and rear facing cameras. Kindle is better with saving and transferring all your content automatically without having to back up, unless you have non Kindle programs. Anyway, that was the only problem I had with the I Pad, but I had about 300 pix from the last 3 years. I was crushed till I found them on drop box, which is now full. I don't have an SD card in my iPad, I think you could save pix to that also.

The iPad doesn't have a SD slot. No matter the device, never have only one copy of anything you can't afford to lose. Unless your iPad is the only computer you own, you can always backup to your computer. You don't have to rely on icloud storage which is limited in size unless you buy more.

for pictures, enable Photostream to your computer and the pix will be saved there too
