Sorry if this was discussed already but, is this watch worth it? I am on the fence. I am very active and use the Fitbit. I own all Apple products so I have an idea how to use. Is it easy to use? Aluminum or Stainless? Which is the best band? Smaller or larger case?
I am tired of the Fitbit because sometimes it doesn’t track everything properly. So, if anyone can give me some knowledge, suggestions or experiences I would be truly appreciative. Thank you in advance for your time.

I too have been on the fence. Several people wear one in my water aerobics class. I personally like the smaller case because I have tiny wrists but it still seems big for me. I like some of the cloth bands. I think the rubber (or whatever it’s made of) band that comes with it would be hot and sweaty so I would get an alternative band. I will wait until Apple introduces version 4 sometime later this year to decide.

I am planning to buy an Apple watch soon. DD has one and loves it. She bought several bands and changes them out.

I had one but gave it to my middle daughter (it interfered with my jewelry).
However, I think I might get another one but I want one like my youngest daughter has. It's way more expensive but you don't have to have your phone with you or near you.
I wanted to get it for my oldest daughter, but she likes the fit bit thing I bought her (she's practical).
Anyway, I think if you're going to get one you should consider the one where you don't need to have your phone with you. Otherwise, you have to have the phone somewhere in the vacinity.

Yes, get the new one that can answer the phone even if your phone isn't with you.
I don't know about the exercise stuff. I turned that off!

I love everything about my watch. I upgraded three weeks ago just prior to a vacation.. I use the exercise features every day. I love the texting and scribble features, the ability to speak on it when phone calls are received, and the waterproof feature. I’m sure there is much more to learn! So far, no downside. I have the smaller version, not sure if it’s aluminum or stainless, and use the “rubber” band. That’s what I had on my original watch, too. I kept thinking I would get other bands but never did, and probably won’t bother. It isn’t hot at al either. Hope this is helpful information.

Here's a link to my thread from last year when I bought Apple Watch 3 with cellular. I love mine and did a pretty extensive review but I posted it in stages as I explored it more.
I'm really happy that I waited for the version with cellular. There have been many times where my phone was on silent or at the other end of the house that my watch let me know I had a call or text I needed to take. I use it for fitness every day. I've slept with it on once. I have a bunch of different bands, from jewelry style to sport bands. I have the stainless black case.

I love my watch. Mostly bc I always know where my phone is and I can answer my phone with my watch. I do use it for exercise. The only bad thing is that I no longer wear my Rolex.

@godi I have one and I can’t imagine “not” having one now....they are amazing devices. My son is an Apple geek and he’s always showing me new and amazing features. I had a Fitbit and the Fitbit Blaze and they can’t even compare to all the features of the Apple Watch. You will wonder what you did without it.

I've had mine since March. I LOVE IT!
I had a FitBit for 10 months. Had a leather band with it, which, after 5 months, kept coming off the device. I switched to a silicone band, and after 5 months, I lost the FitBit. I think it was a problem with the band falling off the device again.
I wasn't going to spend money on another FitBit, so i upgraded to the Apple Watch, which is what I really wanted. I don't have the cellular, but can still answer calls on it, if my phone is near. It tracks steps... not perfectly, but I can live with that. But the goals aren't steps, they are activity. Active calories, exercise minutes, and standing hours (1 minute/hour). I find it pushes me more than the FitBit.
And then there are all the other features. .... the apps I have on the phone, and the conveniences. Too many to go into here. I just LOVE it. Oh, I do have the silicone band that it came with. It's very comfortable. I have a tiny wrist (5-5.5"), and have the smaller watch. It's also very comfortable. Mine is aluminum.
