I've never had an IPAD, also do not have a smart phone. Was thinking of getting the IPAD 2 on clearance as I can afford the easy-pay option. All that being said do you this purchase would be a good starting place for me?

I know that there are newer versions of the IPAD, but I like the fact this comes with all the accessories. Can anyone tell me the differences between the IPAD 2 and the current version?

I wouldn't buy an iPad from the Q. They are over priced, and include accessories that are cheap and useless to justify the price. Apple doesn't make the iPad 2 anymore. iPad 4, and the latest - iPad Air are the models on the market.

If easy pay is the advantage, buying directly from Apple on the website offers an interest free payment plan.

I just looked at the 16GB clearance price on the Q - $469 something. On Apple, the iPad 4, 16 GB, is $399. Their newest iPad, the iPad Air, is $499 for the 16GB.

The difference between the iPad 4 and Air is that the Air is faster. You can read about this difference on this link -http://www.apple.com/ipad/compare/

Like I said earlier, they don't even make the iPad 2 any more. The difference between the 2 and 4 is speed and some other features.

You would make out better getting the 4 directly from Apple, saving over $100 from the Q clearance price. And (if) you needed accessories, you can buy from Amazon.

I would also advise shopping around. I'd get a newer model, and I bet you can save at the Apple site or Best Buy. Plus no shipping.

I wouldn't buy an iPad that old and definitely not from the Q as others advise. The iPad Air (iPad 5) is the current model and the next model is due this year. Apple has a payment plan and I am sure others do too.

I agree with the other posters. You're paying too much money for an iPad that's not made anymore. Apple no longer supports the first iPad. I'd be afraid that they'd stop supporting the iPad 2. And I haven't looked up the accessories, but it don't use any accessories with mine.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

I have an iPad 2 and find it suits my needs perfectly. However, if I were buying a new one today, I'd go with a newer model.

Don't buy the 2. It's terribly outdated now

Thank you for all your good advice. I cancelled my order, although I must confess that I felt really happy for a couple of hours before I cancelled. I know that you gave me good advice and I appreciate it that you took the time to respond.

Hi judgejudith, everyone gave you great advice here, especially about the Apple financing. Also, Target sometimes will offer a store gift card with the purchase of an iPad. If you have a Target near you and shop there, that may interest you. They don't do it all that often, but if you check the flier each week it will tell you.

Are you open to a smaller iPad Mini? Or do you really want something that's larger like a full size iPad? I've had a first generation Mini for a few months and I'm really enjoying it. The 2nd generation Mini costs 100 dollars more than the 1st generation. There are a lot of iPad choices. You can visit the online Apple store for more info. You can also look into a refurbished iPad. They come with a standard warranty like a new iPad.

Sometimes sales people can make all the accessories look very tempting, but in actuality they end up not being that exciting. The only thing I purchased for my iPad Mini was an Otterbox Defender that was on sale at Amazon because I wanted a heavy duty case for it in case of accidental dropping.
