Apple confirms all iPhone 7 Plus and iPhone 7 jet black models are sold out faint.gif

With just one day to go before Apple's new iPhone 7 models hit store shelves, Apple confirmed in a statement to TechCrunch that picking up select iPhone 7 devices at Apple retail stores will be all but impossible come Friday. Specifically, Apple relayed that all iPhone 7 Plus models and all Jet Black versions of the iPhone 7 are already sold out and will not be available as a walk-in purchase.
In other words, the iPhones everyone wants will not be available for purchase tomorrow.
Apple's statement reads:

"We couldn't be happier with the initial response to iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, and we are looking forward to beginning sales through our retail stores and partners around the world.

Beginning Friday, limited quantities of iPhone 7 in silver, gold, rose gold, and black will be available for walk-in customers at Apple retail stores. During the online pre-order period, initial quantities of iPhone 7 Plus in all finishes and iPhone 7 in jet black sold out and will not be available for walk-in customers. Availability at partner locations for all finishes may vary and we recommend checking directly with them.
Customers can continue to order all models in all colors on apple.com. We sincerely appreciate our customers' patience as we work hard to get the new iPhone into the hands of everyone who wants one as quickly as possible."
Users interested in a Jet Black iPhone or an iPhone 7 Plus can, per Apple's suggestion, try their luck at various carrier stores and retail outlets like Best Buy; but if history is any indication, don't be surprised to see both devices completely out of stock everywhere by Friday afternoon.

Funny enough, Apple last week signaled that it has no plans to publicly release launch weekend sales figures next Monday. All the while, early indications suggest that the iPhone 7 may crush all previous iPhone sales records. Sprint, for example, said that iPhone 7 pre-orders are already 375% higher than they were for the iPhone 6s.

If I had the IPhone 6 I'd be a very unhappy camper.  The IPhone 7 has a much longer battery life. That alone is worth it's weight in gold.  I may have to get an IPhone now just for that reason .

@BlingQueen022 I just got an iPhone 6s, and I'm not at ALL an unhappy camper. I love it.

Would never buy a 7.....no way I'm going to dance to the Apple Tune of "no headphone jack because we said so." Nope.

@HULAGIRL...you know it's odd because for me, the 6s is much more comfy in my hand -- I think because of the slim build -- than my old 5c was. Funny how everyone has a different opinion. It makes the world go around. Smiley Happy

I got an IPHONE 6 about 6 months ago.  I really like it.  At first I got a waterproof case for it.  The stupid case was $99.  Everyone said I sounded like I was in a tunnel (Ha) so I gave it to my son-in-law who sold it.

I still have my old IPHONE 5, it's like brand new.  I just like the latest things.  I don't know much about the 7 yet.  I've always been told it was wise to wait until the bugs are worked out first.  It's not like I know though.

I'm holding out for the 8.  I'm happy to hear about the longer battery life and improved camera, but not thrilled about the wireless headphones.  Those new buds look like something I would easily misplace!  Can't wait to see the new wireless headphones they are working on!

Not me, I'm still sulking that my iphone 4s and ipad 2 are both too old for the ios 10 upgrade.

I can relate. My iPad mini is three years old and it can't do the iOS 10 upgrade either.  Our local schools have been told by Apple their iPads will have a shelf life of three years, so I guess this is right in line with that.

You can talk to your SIL. Apple will be pretty good at getting any bug(s) out of this phone. Samsung's Note 7 is down for the count. Apple will sell a lot of iphones.
