Anyone here with an iPad Pro 2018

[ Edited ]

If you have this model, have you updated to ios 12.4.1?

If you have updated, have you noticed a change in your battery draining quickly compared to your battery life prior to the update?

Yes. And No.

Yes, I have updated to 12.4.1

No, I have had no change in battery drain or draw. I use it the same amount and my battery stays at levels I accept as “normal” for my iPad. Not draining quicker in my experience.

iOs 13 will be out in a matter of a couple of weeks. And Apple will be offering a special iOs just for iPads then, too. So if you’re experiencing something unusual with your iPad, you might find improvement when the big updates come out.

Many articles are out on how battery and daily tasks will be affected by these iOS changes. Google and read. Apple   covers it thoroughly on their web site. I’m sure you’ll see improvement.

              @Mindy D,    I don’t have the same model (I have iPad 6), but 12.4.1 hasn’t affected the battery life.   Did you try the troubleshooting suggestions posted on your other thread?  (reference:  "iPad charging much slower since update 12.4.1" at link

               Your problem might be model-specific, but for any iPad model, those steps can seek and find and fix a myriad of problems including battery.😊   I'm sorry you're experiencing this.   As @gizmogal said, iOS 13 will be here very soon -- probably right after 9/10 -- and that might also be of help to you.   Wishing you the best!🌻

@Mindy D

Mine is a 2017 iPad Pro.

Just this morning, first time ever, it began to overheat.

Yes, I have done the 12.4 update. (About a month ago)

The remedy online said to hold down the top button to turn it off, and that would fix the issue. It did for now.

I will try to determine if it is slower to charge, but I haven't noticed a difference in that.
