My Kaspersky is expiring soon and lately have been having problems with it. Has anyone had luck with AVAST free version?
TIA

OMG, never download AVAST, it is a Trojan, comes loaded with problems and is very difficult to uninstall.
Try Stopzilla or Malwarebytes, we have had both and are pleased with them.

I have used AVG. This is an article about free Anti-virus software programs. http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2388652,00.asp
You need to remove your current copy of Kaspersky. You can get directions from their site. You can not run two Anti-virus programs on a computer at a time. You can run Malwarebytes, with an Anti-virus program https://www.malwarebytes.org/products/. You can try the real time software for 30 days.

AVAST has always been a good choice. My husband uses their security suites on his computers but I don't like security suites so I use the free version.
I've been using it for a few years and it's perfectly good. It's not problematic and not intrusive.
I also use Malwarebytes which, BTW, is not another antivirus so you don't want to use JUST that. It's anti-malware and works well with your antivirus software.

I recommend Malwarebytes and the free version of AVG (which I much prefer to AVAST -- tried that in the past).

I have used the paid version of Avast now for 2 years and love it.

I've used the free version of Avast for at least 10 years and I like it. I also use MalwareBytes.

I used Avast in the past with no problems. For quite a few years I have happily used AVG and Malwarebytes.

We have used Avast in the past with no problems. DH installed Microsoft Security Essentials on the desktop. Not sure what he has on the laptop right now. He just installed Win 10 on it. As far as I know Kaspersky is the best. We don't feel the need to pay for it when we can get a good one free. We have the paid version of Malwarebytes so it's always running. We bought it before they started charging a yearly fee. We just had to pay the one time price.
