I get that the update is bigger than my available memory.  I am also hearing I have lots of company.

Can anyone shed any light on this?  TIA. S aka Lilysmom

Normally I update when anything new comes out.  Not anymore because I have older games and programs I want to continue to use.

You confirmed you have 8GB of memory.  BS only needs 4GB.  Are you sure the error message was about memory (RAM)?  Was it for "storage" (HD) instead?  You didn't mention if you had enough storage to install BS.

On Second Thought.......

Do you know how to read your Activitiy Monitor app to check out the "memory" tab?

Some app you have "may" be hogging your memory.  The Activity Monitor app will show you.

Exactly what I was going to say. There's memory (RAM) and then there's memory (hard drive, SSD, M.2, NVME, etc.) You typically need a lot of hard drive type space to install a new operating system. That's probably the issue here.

@Mz iMac @gardenman , thanks.  I will check this out.  I suspect it is as you say.  I haven't done this update version yet as I have been hearing quite a few negative comments.  I don't use my MacBook Pro a lot but need it for committee work, zoom etc.  S aka Lilysmom
