I'm running out of patience. I bought an album by a group and it's in my library. I'm trying to search the store for another album by the same group and it keeps taking me to my library despite selecting iTunes store. What is wrong and how to I fix it?

Re: Another problem with iTunes

It's my iMac, Yosemite, iTunes version 12.0.1.06. I was able to get rid of the popup with the name of the group and "in your library" by clicking on the small chevron along the top of the "bubble". Once I was able to get rid of it, I finally got into the store.

Why add that? You have the choice to go to My Music if you want to listen to what you own. Since I selected the iTune store, go there! Just like with the other problems I've posted about recently, I didn't have this happen until after the recent updates. Arggg!!!! I didn't switch to Apple for problems. Sometimes I feel like I'm back using Windows.

Speaking of Windows, I was able to finally pair my Dell to the Soundlink speaker I bought. I took about 20 minutes for it to actually happen. The pairing took so long because the Dell wouldn't pair within a certain length of time, the Soundlink would time out and I had to start over. With my Apple devices, it was under a minute. So there is a significant difference in performance between the two brands. Thanks for replying and listening to my rant.

Re: Another problem with iTunes

i-Tunes is not my favorite piece of software. I can never understand why they don't just patch it instead of replacing it all of the time. It's not so bad now that I've got broadband, but in the old dial-up days it would take hours to download each new version and they seem to come out with a new version every couple of weeks. Small patches are much easier to deal with than completely reloading the whole program each time they want to tweak something.

Re: Another problem with iTunes

iTunes has been nothing but problems for me. It completely lost one of my most loved playlists. It kept giving me blank screens when I wanted to browse the store, so I looked up several solutions, and uninstalled/reinstalled, as suggested. None of my playlists were intact. My songs were all there, but none of the playlists. It shouldn't be this difficult.

Re: Another problem with iTunes

Not sure, I am not having any problems with iTunes, and I am updated to the latest everything.

Are you signed on to iTunes? Open iTunes and look on the bar at the top right. Click your name and click sign on at the bottom of the drop down. Even if you show as signed in, sometimes if you sign out, and sign in again, this fixes whatever was going on. I think this step will help to solve your issue, but....

Click on Help in the iTunes menu bar on your Mac desktop. You will find a user guide and other specific topics. This is located on the top left, last selection to the right. Click iTunes help from the list, and on left menu bar are help topics and how to information.

If you have a backup on an external hard drive, you can try to restore from the backup.

You can also try to reinstall the Yosemite OS, this will reinstall everything, and in turn will reinstall iTunes on the Mac.

If you really don't like iTunes 12, you can revert back to 11 -

Do you do regular backup to an external hard drive? You can bring back that playlist from your external hard drive. Locate the playlist on the hard drive, and drag it into iTunes.

Also, as I said in post above, make sure you are signed into iTunes. Sometimes you need to sign out, then sign back in again to resolve issues. But if you have done this, and still don't see your playlists, then use your backup to bring the playlist back.

Re: Another problem with iTunes

Have you logged in to the Itunes store, by clicking on the last tab, when I do that it will show me a magnifying glass and say search I tunes store.

We have had numerous issues this past week trying to restore an Itunes library that was buried and locked, my other half is finally having it done by TeKServe, it was out of the range of what I can do and the error messages were driving me up the wall

Stop being afraid of what could go wrong and start being positive what could go right.

Gez, I have 3 IPods I rotate in the car and today's chore was going to be to freshen them up. Now I am too scared. ITunes always raises my blood pressure 30 points anyway.

You are SO right. I LOVED the older versions. The present version is a HOT MESS. Much too much change for change's sake.!
