An old amateur needs computer help, please.

How do I know if I have Google Crome on my computer? I have Microsoft 10 on my HP laptop.

I have no idea what Google Crome is or if I have it.

Thanks,

tea

Google Crome is a browser.  A browser is an application that allows you to browse the world wide web.

To find out which browser you are using, look at the top left corner of your comp screen.

Or look at the icon you used to open up your browser.  Should have the name of the browser.

I have the lower case e with a 1/2 ring around it. Internet Explorer?

Is that my browser?

@teainlondon- Yes, that would be the icon for the Internet Explorer.  You have to download other browsers like Firefox and Google Chrome.

Thank you so much. I don't know all the terms. It's like driving a car for me. Put gas in and it goes, but I don't know the battery from the transmission. Just too old.

I appreciate your time and answer.

Go to Start--> All Apps (used to be All Programs before Win 10). All of the installed Apps (programs) should be listed in alphabetical order. Check under G for Google Chrome and under C for just Chrome, just in case.

Here's a video that may help. It explains how to find and organize Apps on the home page of Windows 10: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DuEKJAgN4wE

Windows 10 comes with two browsers, I think. One is Internet Explorer and the other is Edge, the new Microsoft browser that is replacing Internet Explorer. I think Edge is the default browser on Windows 10.

One of the first things I do when I get a new computer is install Chrome and make that the new default browser.
