Wondering about amazon firestick and firestick lite! Can you buy one of these and use on a second tv and watch shows for free without having to pay anything?

Dont have a cable box on bedroom TV and would like to have a way to see some shows without paying, cant afford cable bill as it is.

Please let me know, thank you!

You need wi-fi.  Be aware there are 2 Fire Stick Lites; one has TV control (on/off and volume) the other doesn't have TV control.  I don't know which one was presented yesterday on SMQ.

I have a Fire Stick on the bedroom TV, no cable box needed.

Very few streamiing channels are free.  I have Smart TVs and Apple TVs and everything I stream requires a subscription or proof I have a Comcast service.  If you want over the air TV, which is free after paying for the antenna, get an antenna.

If your cable company has an app for the Firestick, you can use it in place of a cable box, but when I did it a couple of years ago the interface was really clunky. They may have (should have) improved it since then. I no longer have cable so I can't say if they did or didn't improve it. Going from one channel to another took a minute or longer back when I was using it. It was a clunky interface.

Be aware of how the firestick has a tendency of overheating and one of the biggest enemies of electronics is heat. When the FS gets too warm, it starts acting up, majorly.

I did read something about overheating and what to do about that.

Thank you for your replies!!

I use two regular FireSticks and I love them. I decided not to buy the FireStick Lite because it apparently doesn't have volume control and I don't know how one functions well without that...

Because I live in an area where an antenna is useless for live news, I have to add YouTube TV for $65 a month. Otherwise, FireStick gives more than enough content to keep me happy.
