Jordan2, You may have another choice. It is Tunein radio. I did a search on Tunein, and it found 108 radio stations http://tunein.com/search/?query=beatles . Amazon recently added Tunein radio to the "Echo". You need to sign up for Tunein online. I usually program "Alexa" from the "Echo" App.

Yes I received mine a few weeks ago and just love it!  It's a bit odd at first to be speaking into thin air and a voice answers you but you get used to it quickly.  Great little device!

I'm sorry the other Echo thread disappeared.  A lot of good knowledge and advice was lost with that one.  Hopefully QVC can restore it at some point.

I know what you mean, mtc.  So much for bookmarks, right.  Anyway, in addition to reading posts here about the Echo, I also spend time reading about it in the Amazon discussion forums.  I like getting other peoples thoughts and ideas that might work for me.  Just before these boards changed, I read one particular post in the Amazon forums that I’m really glad I found.  She posts under “April L. Hamilton” and says she’s an Echo app developer.  This particular discussion thread is called “Amazon Echo (no invite questions).”  April wrote, “...since a lot of folks in this thread seem to be hungry for any and all Echo tips, tricks and how-tos, . . .I’ve launched what I believe to be the first consumer-oriented site dedicated to the Echo.”  I don’t know how old the website is, but I have found her to be right up my alley.  She shares tips and provides clarity where I didn't have the patience to even want to understand.  Thought the link might prove useful to other Echo newbies/non tech savvy owners like myself.

Anyway, I’m glad I got to read through the old Echo posts that were here before they “fixed” these forums.

Sorry if this has already been posted - I didn't read through the entire thread.

I received an email today that the Echo is now available to the general public for $179.99, limit 2 each (no invitation required).

It has over 19,600 reviews - 4.5 out of 5 stars.

I'm glad that I'm a Prime member and bought for $100. I don't think I would spend $180 for it as I'm not in love with it.

That price does not include the remote.  But someone on the other thread said there is an Echo Remote app that you can download to your phone so.

Some may not use the remote anyway.  I don't use mine much.

The remote is another $29.??.

Edit:  I thought I quoted Lainey.  I meant to.  Sorry about the confusion.

I didn't know they'd killed off the remote. That's interesting. I use the remote fairly often. That does help explain the odd pricing strategy though. I thought they'd be ticking off those who paid $199 by now selling them for $179, but if they got the remote at $199 then it all evens out.

I think that Amazon saw what a hit the Echos were and wanted to raise the price from what they quoted originally.  So with the Echo and the remote both, it is $210.  I'm sure most people will buy the pair.  That sounds better than them saying that we are going to sell them for $199.00 at first, but we changed out mind and now we want $210.
