Use must use a lot more data than I do, because my 6gig data plan with unlimited talk and text is 65 dollars.

I'm not looking for a data plan @jaxs mom.  I want comparisons to phones.  Use must?  LOL.

Hi!

One thing that I found odd with my carrier is that if you want an iPhone, you only have the choice of leasing it.

For that reason, and because the price for iPhones is so much higher, I started looking at Samsung.

By some weird coincidence, right when I was looking into this, I got the current issue of Consumer Reports and the Samsung Galaxy S7 was rated higher than the current iPhone anyway.

I went ahead with the Samsung Galaxy S7, for considerably less money, the higher rating, AND I just didn't feel comfortable paying even more money per month to NOT own the phone.

I can see that leasing makes sense for some folks.  For me, it doesn't.  But I could get the higher rated phone to own, vs paying a much higher payment per month to only be leasing the other one.

How odd.  I don't think I've ever heard of a carrier that only leases iPhones.  I wonder how the get away with it?

Re: Advice please.....

I love Straighttalk service.  It is $45 a month for unlimited talk and text. You get 5 GB of data.  For $55 you can get 10 GB data.  BUT you have to buy your phone outright.

The last two times I upgraded (3 years apart) I wait until a brand new phone comes out and then I buy the model right before that at a highly discounted amount.

Recently I bought an unlocked Samsung Galaxy Edge 7 for $500 with no shipping and no tax through Ebay.  This phone is awesome!  I upgraded from a Samsung Galaxy Note 3, so it was quite an improvement.

When I read the Samsung 8s were going to be $1,000 I figured I could be happy enough with the 7.  I have not priced the 8s to see if they really are $1,000.

Good luck finding your perfect phone and plan.

I think I will compare the Iphone 7 with the Galaxy S7.  The Galaxy s8 and 8+ is bigger and costs more than the s7 with a different operating system.

The Iphone 7 costs less than the Galaxy S8 and I have read some reviews on youtube and on my carrier's website.  I was just hoping to get some other feedback.  I'm not changing my carrier.  I have the best service with them.  Just I want to upgrade my phone.

I'll chime in and let you all know what I've decided on.

Thank you everyone for your feedback.

I owned Apples and androids phones and tablets. I have the iPhone 7  and its a cool device but I find an android easier to work. I had iphones for about 3 years now and still struggle with it and I am computer savy!  I can not freaking  find my notifications on my iphone LOL.

The battery life  on Android vs Apple is the same. I do not notice a difference.  I find the Androids to be more customizeable. Apple has several storage sizes to choose from but no SD Slot. I have the iPhone 7 in that Piano Black that people talk about.  If I have a black screen background it all looks seamless  without edges.  It is super sharp and classy looking. I just this week found it has free Navigation. No need for a seperate GPS device. You just speak to Siri for directions and it talks you threw it as you drive. Awesome!

It looks fragile  for it appears to be all glass and seamless but it has help up amazingly well. The black model is very classy

Its Sprint. My last phone was a lease. I still traded it in and switched to Verison

I have the 6+ I'm not sure what specific experience info you're looking for. My current phone is my third iphone and my previous ones were all still working perfectly when I replaced them. My old iphone 4 is still working with no battery issues. My iphone 3g was given to someone I'm no longer in contact with so I don't know it's status.

@jaxs mom, I love my iPhone 6+❤️!!!  LM
